The Mizengo Pinda Campus of Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) in Katavi recently hosted an esteemed visitor, Hon. Mizengo Pinda, the former Prime Minister of the United Republic of Tanzania. The visit aimed to assess the ongoing development activities at the campus.
During his address to staff and students, Hon. Mizengo Pinda expressed heartfelt appreciation to the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Hon. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, for her commitment to enhancing education and economic opportunities for the people of Katavi. He commended the transformative impact of the Higher Education for Economic Transformation Project (HEET), which is expected to drive significant growth for the university, the region, and the local community.
Hon. Pinda also extended his gratitude to the SUA management team, acknowledging their efforts in overseeing the campus’s development. He expressed optimism that the completion of the construction projects would result in increased student enrollment and the introduction of new academic programs, contributing to economic advancement in the region.
As part of his visit, Hon. Pinda inspected the progress of construction projects being executed by Til Construction Company. He praised the ongoing work and encouraged stakeholders to ensure the projects are completed to the highest standards.
